“Growth State--Contemporary Art Exhibition”
From August 29 to September 19, 2009, “Growth State--Contemporary Art Exhibition” will be held in Beijing Huantie Times Art Museum, including over 80 art works of more than 20 artists. Ms. Sun Xiaojuan is the curator.
Growth refers to contemporary art as well as artists’ courses of creation. In the face of the long history of contemporary art, Chinese contemporary art is newborn and vigorous. This group of art works in this exhibition is a kind of combing for this “growth state”, maybe some of them haven’t have perfect academic systems or strong personal styles, but it is their state of growth that makes their art works worthy of exploring and full of potential and vitality.
In such a period when visual art is over-symbolic and commercial, art market needs a value system which is in accordance with the academic system to show art’s true value. To take this into consideration, this exhibition aims at exploring the possibility of presenting the value of art works and the importance of exhuming the academic value of art.
Following the philosophy of “academy foremost”, Huantie Times Art Museum do their efforts to cultivate and promote artists who is really valuable and guide collectors to recognize and appreciate the ture beauty of contemporay art.
