The Origin and Medium of Letter and the Perplexity in I-thinking Dai Dengyun
Abstract: This paper focuses on Jacques Derrida ‘s Plato studies, which reveals the problem of textual interpretation of Plato’s Phaedrus. Through the close readings and intensive analysis, Derrida finds the latent meanings in Plato’s text, which have long been overlooked. The so-called latent meaning is about the interactive relations among word (writing) and its mediacy, the others and their context. To reveal the complex relations, we may find a way not only to settle the perplexing problem about the hermeneutics of Plato, but also find a harborage for the modern society, the “grotesque platonic text,” in it origin. This paper is not only the interpretation of Plato but also a duplicated writing on Derrida through a unique point of view into the forefront of contemporary thinks.
