“2007北京798艺术节”4月28日开幕
经过两个月的紧张筹备，“2007北京798艺术节”在各方的支持和配合下终于开幕了。此次艺术节由北京798艺术区建设管理办公室主办，由七星集团赞助，得到了北京798艺术区各艺术机构的积极参与和社会各界的广泛关注。
中国经济和当代艺术的奇迹般地成长是798艺术区形成的两大背景。90年代后期，中国经济和社会完成了史无前例的转型，资本原始积累完成，消费社会和市民社会文化形成，出现了上千年从未有过的城市建造运动，劳动力和资本流动的规模超过周边资本主义国家，跨国资本和国际文化全面进入中国。这一背景首先促使当代艺术将目光转向主流社会的开放性变化，以及这种奇迹经济背景下个人的自我变化的特征，在艺术语言上开始追求真正意义的自我形式。
新世纪初，在国际成功和国内文化政策走向开放的背景下，当代艺术开始了合法化进程，并建立起初步的当代艺术体制，包括国际双年展、海外国家馆、私立画廊、民营美术馆、基金会、学院课程等，前卫艺术开始进入国家美术馆。这实际上是当代艺术经过边缘化、国际化之后的第三个阶段，这一阶段的意义在于，当代艺术开始越出艺术圈的专业范围，在中国经济成长和文化开放的背景下真正融入了本土社会。其标志则是798艺术区的诞生和大量资本涌入当代艺术领域，最终产生中国当代艺术在国际拍卖市场上的天价。
前卫艺术的商业化，以及艺术品的资本化，导致中国艺术市场在一年多的时间内走完了很多资本主义国家需要花费近十年要走的道路，以此完成了当代艺术对中国社会的启蒙，并有可能使中国在未来十年与美国比肩。这是一次真正意义的本土力量引导当代艺术，市场资本第一次扮演对本土艺术的基本推力，并迅速促使艺术和资本形成一个新的体制结构，以商业和资本的力量来推动学术体系的社会化和国际化。
798艺术区就是在这样一个背景下应运而生的，798艺术区在当代艺术演变的第三阶段中扮演了一个标志性的角色。这个原先拥有大量废弃工业厂房和下岗工人的传统工业大型企业在当代艺术的新一轮浪潮中传奇般地进行了产业转型，一举成为国际知名的艺术区。新世纪以来各种新锐文化的元素都可以在这里找到，比如新媒体、动漫、摇滚、影像和民间性等，几近成为中国当代艺术在本土真正融入主流社会的一个划时代的标志。
“2007北京798艺术节”旨在继续推进798艺术区作为艺术前卫性的展示和当代中国最具文化开放活力之窗口的核心价值和生态，并在此基础上促进798艺术区成为一个以高级美术馆、基金会和画廊为主体的重要的国际艺术中心。北京798艺术节在举办理念上有两个方面的目标：首先，798艺术节应该成为当代艺术中最新锐和最有活力部分的展示平台，体现中国乃至国际当代艺术的艺术观念和语言形式的进展状况；其次，在艺术和文化多元性上，798艺术节应该作为当代中国城市文化的展示平台。中国社会甚至国际社会需要从798艺术区这样一个平台看到当代中国新的自我形象。
艺术节注重体现798艺术区的“多元”和“民间”的基本特征，在活动安排和形式上有别于其他的双年展和时尚活动。整体活动以学术为主干，兼顾一些时尚性的内容和单元。艺术作品展示国内最新有活力的实践，注重新一代艺术的展示，以及国际前沿的艺术创作的介绍。同时艺术节试图探索比目前国内众多双年展更具开放性和包容度的当代艺术展示模式，比如实行由独立策展人担任的总策展人制，在展示作品的多样性和前卫性的尺度上也要比现有双年展更具有包容度。
本次艺术节共分为四个部分，主题展，独立单元展、同盟展和艺术论坛。
70后一代的艺术是艺术节展示的主题展部分。70后艺术则是1990年代末产生的新艺术运动，70后一代是市场改变中国之后的一代，他们的艺术代表了处于上升时期的中国正在走向史无前例复兴的自我状态，并改变了上一代艺术的政治化和边缘文化的特征，但也表现出抽离中心的反精英化和历史断裂的特征。
独立单元展由影像单元、国际装置艺术展、舞蹈、戏剧和摇滚乐等媒介的先锋艺术的展示组成。
影像单元将由徐大为、朱日坤、杨子三位分策展人策划，包括国际新媒体艺术、纪录片和独立短片展，国际新媒体艺术展包括英国著名先锋导演格林纳威制作的最新多媒体作品《图瑟?卢帕的手提箱》，纪录片和独立短片将展示近年包括崔子恩等人的民间影像的最新创作，以及由中央美院等八大美院学生拍摄的以“金钱”为主题的纪录片，这些影像都是反映中国社会真实的民间状况。
影像单元的另一个重要部分是先锋摄影展“龙的变身”。“龙的变身”是反映中国正在进行一场彻底的社会和经济变革，从景观、内心和艺术观都在发生深层次的变化，中国当代摄影的图像充满了场所和人群的流动，骚动不安的情绪，愈演愈烈的消费主义、重新认同的历史和传统意识、以及史无前例的宏观变化。这个展览将全面展示了目前中国先锋摄影的创作状况，不仅有艾未未等著名艺术家，也有许多年轻一代艺术家。
由美国策展人马克策划的国际装置艺术展以及由六大国际艺术基金会策划的户外艺术海报展，将展示国际最新的当代艺术。本届艺术节还举办艺术论坛将邀请艺术家、策展人、画廊负责人、收藏家等参与讨论当代艺术的在市场资本大量涌入后产生的问题和未来走向，次次论坛将对所有参观艺术节的艺术爱好者和专业人士开放。
艺术节的一个重要部分是由艺术区的各画廊机构自己独立策划的同盟展。798艺术区拥有国内一流的画廊机构，他们独立策划的优秀的当代艺术展也将是本次艺术节的一个展览亮点。
艺术论坛旨在通过对具有前瞻性主题的探讨来发掘艺术和艺术市场所蕴含的可能性，并通过业界专家和论坛参与者的互动对话来探索艺术如何通过这些主题的阐发更顺畅的融入整个社会文化体系尤其是作为新经济模式的文化创意产业系统。
这些分展和单元展都具有自己鲜明和锐利的艺术倾向，并被包容在2007北京798艺术节之中。这也是体现798艺术区真正意义的多样性生态，以及由差异产生的碰撞和创造活力的特征。

Through two months intense preparation,“2007 Beijing 798 art festival”is opened under the support and cooperation of every respect.. This Art Festival is initiated by Beijing 798 Art Zone Administration & Development Office, and sponsored by the Sevenstar Group,also reserved participation of art organizations and extensively attention of the society.
The background 798 art zone’s form is the unprecedented growth of Chinese economy and contemporary art. In the late of 1990s, the economy and society of China have transformed successfully, at the same time, the original capital has been accumulated, and the culture of consumption society and citizen society has come into being, besides, the city’s construction movement has not be seen in last thousands years, the scale of labor and capital inflation has catch up with other countries. The capital across the country and the world culture have flowed into China. This background first make contemporary art turn into main society’s opening change, and person’s character have been changed, person lien to pursue the real meaning in art language.
In the beginning of this century, as the world’s successful and the domestic art policy come into opened, contemporary art is in process of legal, and has made the contemporary art policy, including international biennial, overseas national gallery, private gallery, folk art gallery, foundation and academy courses. “2007 Beijing 798 art festival”aims at boosting core value and zoology of 798 art zone as avant-garde art-show and on-limits window of contemporary China, and developing 798 art zone to an important international art center composed of high rank art galleries, foundations and galleries. Beijing 798 art festival has two goals in notions：Firstly，798 art festival is supposed to be the most avant-garde and vivid exhibit flat to reflect domestic and international contemporary art notion and languages’ form development; Secondly, on art and cultural diversity, 798 art festival is supposed to be exhibit flat of Chinese contemporary city culture. The art festival focuses on the art zone’s basic features of “diversity”and“folk”， differentiate from other biennials and vogue activities in arrangement form. This art festivsl is divided into four parts: theme exhibition, unit exhibition, union exhibition, forum 70s art exhibition belongs to theme exhibition which came out in late 90s as a new art movement.
